CMD was established in 2005 with support from Objective 1 Programme for Merseyside, the North West Development Agency, the University of Liverpool and private sector partners.

CMD is a unique and vibrant research centre employing a team of highly-skilled, multidisciplinary professionals to support the discovery and optimisation of new materials for commercial exploitation.

We are ideally located on the University of Liverpool city campus adjoining the Department of Chemistry and this allows easy access to a broad community of research scientists with wide-ranging expertise and know-how.
